Albion head coach Arturo Ruiz spoke to The Brighton Base about the international break as his side prepared for the return of Barclays Women’s Super League action this weekend.

After a week of World Cup qualifying play-offs, Olympic qualifiers and friendlies, Albion’s players are back in training ahead of facing Manchester City at the Joie Stadium this Sunday, with kick-off at 2.30pm.

Ten points already separate the WSL title holders from Brighton, with Andrée Jeglertz’s side having won all five of their opening fixtures to sit atop the league table on 15 points.

Albion, meanwhile, sit ninth after securing their first WSL victory of the season against Charlton Athletic just before the international break.
