Brighton secured European football in unusual circumstances when they were convincingly beaten 3-0 by Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.
The Seagulls arrived at the Amex Stadium knowing that a win would ensure that they would be battling it out in some form of UEFA competition next season, but Fabian Hurzeler’s side never truly showed up despite the roaring atmosphere in the stands.
After a lacklustre first half an hour, Patrick Dorgu nodded the Red Devils into the lead from a corner, and in doing so helped Bruno Fernandes break the Premier League’s record for most assists in a single campaign.
