Brighton saw their hopes of playing European football next season dented after suffering a late 1-0 defeat at the hands of Leeds on Sunday afternoon.
A victory at Elland Road would have secured the Seagulls a spot in the top eight, but Fabian Hurzeler’s side never truly rose to the occasion and will likely need a result against Manchester United next week to ensure they are playing on Thursday nights next season.
Despite having very little to play for besides pride, Leeds were quick out of the blocks and uncharacteristically dominated possession, though without truly threatening Bart Verbruggen.
