It was a season of ups and downs for Brighton. They looked like they were sleepwalking towards a relegation battle at the turn of the year, but ultimately finished in eighth place and secured a second European campaign in the club’s 125-year history.
Inconsistency was the running theme throughout the season. Fabian Hurzeler’s side went on a disappointing run of two wins in 15 games during the winter period, before a drastic upturn in form saw the Seagulls battle to six wins from eight matches.
