Brighton threw away a two-goal lead as they were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday afternoon.
Yankubah Minteh had given Brighton the lead after just eight minutes, showing great composure to round Guglielmo Vicario and slot into an empty net after some excellent work from Georginio Rutter. Yasin Ayari then doubled the Seagulls’ advantage in the 31st minute when Vicario failed to deal with the Sweden international’s strike from distance.
Spurs then wasted several opportunities to test Bart Verbruggen from wide areas before halving the deficit just minutes before the interval when Richarlison smashed home from close range.
