Brighton battled to their third victory in their last four matches with a 1-0 win over Sunderland on Saturday afternoon.
Former Newcastle winger Yankuba Minteh was the hero for the Seagulls, with his skewed strike somehow finding the back of the net from a tight angle after 58 minutes.
The Black Cats initially thought they had taken the lead early in the second half, with Chris Rigg whipping his strike beyond Bart Verbruggen. However, VAR soon intervened to chalk off the youngster’s effort as Omar Alderete was in an offside position in the buildup.
Brighton had their fair share of chances to go ahead prior to their all-important goal, with Jack Hinshelwood forcing a smart stop from Melker Ellborg from close range in the first half before tamely shooting straight at the Sunderland goalkeeper after the break.
