Brighton’s winless run in December continued as they played out a 0-0 draw with Sunderland on Saturday afternoon.
Mats Wieffer came close to breaking the deadlock in the first half when his header was saved by Robin Roefs following an abstract corner routine. The Seagulls then struggled to truly build on that chance and pile pressure on the Black Cats though, with Regis Le Bris’ side comfortably dealing every question that was asked of them.
The away side then came close to taking the lead after the interval when Omar Alderete rose highest to power his header towards goal before Bart Verbruggen flicked his effort onto the crossbar.
