Brighton booked their spot in the fourth round of the FA Cup with a 2-1 victory over Manchester United on Sunday evening.

Both sides squandered big chances to take the lead early on at Old Trafford, with Diego Dalot fluffing his lines twice when getting in behind the Brighton backline and Danny Welbeck failing to capitalise on a mistake from Senne Lammens.

The Seagulls then took the lead after 12 minutes, with Brajan Gruda tucking a neat half-volley into the back of the net after Georginio Rutter’s header was cleared off the line.

Welbeck then continued his fine scoring form against his former club in the 64th minute when smashing a fierce strike into the top corner to send Brighton's away supporters into a frenzy and all but ensure their progression into the next round.
