Brighton may feel that they have plenty to do heading into the January transfer window, both with incomings and outgoings. But they also have six players who are out of contract next June and able to negotiate deals with teams abroad, which would see them leave as a free agent in summer 2026.

The list of potential departures includes some of Fabian Hurzeler’s key players and a few who are recovering from long-term injuries, which could force the Seagulls into some tough decisions.

Brighton are rarely too busy in the January window, with their business often limited to signing long-term prospects, but this season may be slightly different with them facing the prospect of losing players who are vital to the squad and the way it functions. The Albion are also somewhat in the middle of an injury crisis, so the prospect of losing key players to pre-contract agreements could have a huge impact on their season.
