Danny Welbeck came off of the bench to lead Brighton to a 3-1 win over Chelsea on Saturday. The veteran striker bagged a late brace as the Seagulls came from behind to secure all three points at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea dominated the first half and headed into the interval with a 1-0 lead thanks to a header from Enzo Fernandez. However, all of the Blues’ hard work was undone after 53 minutes when Trevoh Chalobah was sent off following a VAR check.

Kaoru Mitoma had dispossessed by Andrey Santos deep in the Chelsea half, who then released Diego Gomez, but the Paraguay international was unable to get his shot underway as he was clumsily brought down by the Chelsea defender.
