Tony Bloom’s Brighton reign began on the 18th of May 2009 as he was officially announced as the chairman of the club, taking over from Dick Knight. Given how Bloom’s tenure with the Seagulls has been highly successful on the transfers front, it would come as a surprise to many to learn his first signing of the new era was only at the club for 73 days. Mark Wright, here is his story.
Wright arrived on the south coast off the back of two seasons at MK Dons, having spent seven years with Walsall before that. A tidy wide player with the ability to play on either flank, the forward looked like a bargain for Brighton.
