Sami Hyypia’s short and rather sorry spell with Brighton came to a halt eleven years ago today. The Finn’s resignation in December 2014 ended a challenging period for the club, which included coaching staff U-turns, a poor summer of recruitment, bizarre loan signings and unique training tales.

But as we have seen time and time again, what a player can offer on the pitch doesn’t always reflect in the dugout. This can be said for the now-52-year-old, who struggled to hit his stride in England.
