Brighton have the chance to put themselves firmly in the race for Champions League football when they travel up north on Saturday to face Newcastle.

Fabian Hurzeler’s side head into the fixture on a high following an impressive 3-0 victory at home to Chelsea just under two weeks ago, which saw them leapfrog the Blues and move up to sixth place, racking up six wins in their last eight games.

The Magpies, on the other hand, are winless in their last five, including a heavy 7-2 defeat to Barcelona and a heartbreaking 90th-minute loss to rivals Sunderland. Their poor run of form has them sitting in 14th place, eight points behind the Seagulls.
