The Africa Cup of Nations gets underway this week, with the Ivory Coast set to bid to retain their crown following their success in 2023.
The timing of the competition is set to have an almighty impact on how the next few weeks of Premier League action pans out, with a whole host of stars set to travel to Morocco to compete, including Brighton star Carlos Baleba.
The midfielder is set to be the only Seagulls player to feature in the competition after Yankuba Minteh’s Gambia failed to qualify. However, the absence of their No. 17 is not the only implication of AFCON. A number of Brighton’s upcoming opponents are set to be without key players.
