Brighton Under-21s head coach Shannon Ruth has urged young talent Harry Howell to take inspiration from his cousin Jack Hinshelwood as he looks to establish himself in the Seagulls' first-team squad.
The 18-year-old was a standout for his side last season, scoring 13 goals and providing six assists in 34 appearances, which saw him rewarded with six first-team appearances, including a start against rivals Crystal Palace.
The Englishman also impressed in the Carabao Cup, where he registered two assists and scored his first senior goal in 6-0 wins against Oxford and Barnsley.
Speaking to The Brighton Base about the forward’s development, Ruth explained: “Ultimately, for Harry, it’s about trying to break into the first team and establish that. For a young player, it’s always hard.
