Despite Brighton splashing the cash on a host of young signings over the summer, it is veteran Pascal Gross who has been their most impressive star in recent weeks.

The 35-year-old has scored three goals and registered three assists in five Premier League appearances, as well as running the show in the Seagulls’ recent 3-2 Carabao Cup win over Manchester United.

Gross was central to Brighton’s 3-0 thumping of title holders Arsenal earlier this weekend, opening the scoring with a curling effort that beat David Raya at his near post to set the tone on a memorable afternoon at the Amex Stadium.
