Brighton overcome Strasbourg in seven-goal pre-season thriller as set-pieces prove decisive in Austria

The Seagulls were forced to work hard to secure the victory in the sweltering heat of Vienna, but the win capped off a successful training camp for Fabian Hurzeler’s side – who had initially expected to spend the week in France.

Strasbourg took the lead early on when Samuel Amo-Ameyaw weaved his way past Ferdi Kadioglu before firing a low strike into the bottom corner.

Hugo Oliveira’s side then raced into a two-goal lead just moments later. Amo-Ameyaw turned creator this time, with the winger breezing past Kadioglu again before drilling a cross into Martial Godo, who cheekily diverted it home from close range.
