Brighton Women’s head coach Arturo Ruiz spoke to The Brighton Base ahead of his side’s league fixture against Charlton Athletic at the Amex Stadium.

The Seagulls will be aiming to secure their first victory of the WSL campaign this Sunday, with Ruiz’s side already defeating the Addicks 4-0 in the Players Cup last week.

Brighton midfielder Olaug Tvedten scored a brace inside 55 minutes at the Broadfield Stadium before Caitlin Hayes and Sophie Peskett struck home in the 65th and 82nd minutes respectively.

“Charlton did a great match and we couldn’t close the game until late in the second half, so it was a really hard one,” reflected Ruiz.
