Brighton player ratings vs Kauno Žalgiris: Trio score 8s as the Seagulls cruise to comfortable Conference League victory
16.10.26, 00:01 4 Minute Read
Brighton kicked off their UEFA Conference League campaign in style with a comfortable 4-0 victory over Kauno Žalgiris at the Amex Stadium on Thursday night.
The Seagulls were in complete control from the get-go, with a much-changed Albion side enjoying plenty of possession and looking to wear down the Kauno backline.
Nevertheless, it took until the 41st minute to break the deadlock, with Georginio Rutter steering his effort into the bottom corner after Ibrahim Osman’s cutback.
Jack Hinshelwood then doubled Brighton’s advantage on the cusp of half-time, sweeping his strike beyond Kauno goalkeeper Tomas Svedkauskas.
