Tottenham have reached an agreement with Brighton for defender Jan Paul van Hecke, The Brighton Base can confirm.

Spurs have been locked in talks over the Dutchman in recent days after seeing their opening two bids rejected earlier this month.

Van Hecke's contract at the Amex Stadium is due to expire in June 2027, with a sale this summer increasingly expected after the defender showed little desire to enter negotiations over a new deal.

Liverpool and Chelsea were also monitoring the centre-back's situation, but Tottenham moved quickly under the instruction of manager Roberto De Zerbi to wrap up an agreement.
