Brighton defender Manuela Vanegas has extended her stay at the club, putting pen to paper on a new long-term deal on the Sussex coast.

The 25-year-old joined the Seagulls last summer from Real Sociedad, where she made 96 appearances and scored 10 goals during four seasons with the Liga F outfit.

Vanegas made her debut for Colombia at the 2018 Copa América Femenina before later establishing herself as an integral part of the squad that helped her nation to a runners-up finish at the 2022 Copa América Femenina.

She has since competed at the 2023 FIFA World Cup and the 2024 Olympics with Colombia.
