Brighton have announced the signing of Sophie Peskett from Ipswich Town, with the accolade-laden forward joining the Albion’s attacking ranks.

The Tractor Girls have described the deal as a club-record fee, with the 23-year-old becoming the Seagulls’ fifth signing of a busy transfer window as the club looks to build on a historic FA Cup run and seventh-place finish in the Women’s Super League last season.

Peskett joins Brighton having spent the past seven years at Ipswich, where she made a total of 127 appearances. During her stay, the right winger helped Town to be promoted to the FAWNL Southern Premier Division and then WSL2.

The forward won the Golden Boot award in the 2023/24 season with 12 goals and 20 assists, before bettering her record with an impressive 23 goals and eight assists during the following campaign to help the Tractor Girls gain promotion to WSL2.
